OUR HISTORY

Exterior view of the Shelby County Athletic Club building with parking lot in front, red roof, stone and metal siding, and a sign that reads 'Shelby County Athletic Club'

Our History - The Klubhaus was originally built in 1977 as an exclusive racquetball club. In 1989 it was then purchased by Ray and Melonye Schebler who transitioned it into a full fitness facility. For over 30 years the Shelby County Athletic Club served the community as a family-owned and operated fitness center. In 2021 the facilities chapter in fitness had sadly come to a close.

In 2022 Ray’s daughter, Brittney, had come up with the idea of transforming the space into a wedding and event venue. After many hours of thought, planning and prayer they decided to team up and take on this new chapter together. With Brittney’s incredible eye for design and Ray's continued dedication and hard work, a dream slowly became a reality. Continuing the tradition of being family-owned and operated, Belle Rose Weddings and On The Hill Events takes much pride in hosting your special day and cannot wait for you to become a part of our family!
